To Thrift or Not To Thrift...

Thrift stores are not just for vintage finds. But who doesn't love a vintage piece in their wardrobe? There are some great items that can be found at thrift (consignment, resale) shops. Here is a rundown of the obvious and not so obvious dos and don'ts when shopping for clothes, shoes, and accessories at thrift shops.

DO

1. Look for designer/high end items (You will save a ton of money buying gently used or new high quality items at a thrift shop.).

2. Keep your eye open for 'new with tag' items (Many people get rid of unwanted new items.).

3. Look for unique pieces (Something you wont find in a regular store.).

4. Check the jewelry section for genuine gold, silver, diamond, and gemstone pieces (The prices will be much cheaper at a thrift store than at a regular store or jewelry store. Also, many times people don't realize their piece is real and get rid of it. So if you are great at telling the difference, then this is your go-to spot!).

DON'T

1. Buy used shoes, under garments, swimsuits, or anything that is unsanitary or can't be properly cleaned.
